Anime Expo 2015 - New Records!

The bar was set high this year at Anime Expo. The biggest anime convention in the west coast drew in over 90,000 attendees. Setting records of its previous 80,000 The main theme this year seemed to be musical guests. With Japanese bands like Momoiru and WagakkiBand and IA making their AX debuts. Other bands including Anamanaguchi and Porter Robinson made the musical selection over the top!

With so much music this year I was very happy to be able to attend many of these as I come to Anime Expo to experience new things and learn about new culture. The SPJA (Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation) did a fantastic job bringing in this and sharing with the 90,000 other anime/Japanese loving guests.

What I love about going to Anime expo each year is I always leave impressed about the things they fix and improve on over the years I have gone. With this being my 10th year attending it makes me so happy to see the industry and fandom grow. This year Anime Expo worked with event bright to set up the registration system a much needed system now that the attendance cap is nearing the 100k mark! it was a quick and smooth process getting guests out of the hot sun and into having fun much faster

The cosplayers came out in full force this year as they always do! I myself cosplayed as my favorites including Strider Hiryu and Makoto Shishio from Ronin Kenshin. One of my favorite activites was checking out the video game history museam. They set up game stations covering all generations of gaming history allowing guests to plat old school games on the original hardware and controls. What shocked me most was seeing Panzer Dragoon on the sega saturn system i think i almost yelled out loud how cool that was.

The weather was very cool this year and many of the food trucks provided cool drinks and food for anyone brave enough to spend all their con money on food and not swag *spent money on food not swag* With various activities to do including  dancing, arcades, panels, meet and greets, maid cafes and much more it is a child friendly event and are things for everyone.
Check out the Anime Expo website for more details and how to register. see you all next year for the 25 year anniversary!!
